The March Dispatch: Spring Is Calling in Atlanta

March’s Travel Dispatch

Spring is officially in the air. The dogwoods are budding, patios are reopening, and Atlanta is buzzing with the kind of energy that makes you want to be outside and in the middle of it all. Whether you’re planning a Spring Break getaway, looking for a reason to explore a new neighborhood, or already counting down to the World Cup this summer; March is the month to make your move!

Featured Stays: Made for Spring

Our Atlanta homes are built for the way people actually travel, with room to breathe, neighborhoods that reward a slow morning walk, and the kind of spaces that make you want to extend the trip.

Here are a few March highlights:

Two Acre Queen Anne Estate

Walkable Decatur

A historic cottage on two lush acres, right in the heart of Decatur. Walk to Agnes Scott, Oakhurst Village, and all of Downtown Decatur's best restaurants and coffee shops. Springtime doesn't get more charming than this and with a 4.95 rating, guests agree!

Bark & Bubbles Apartment

Little Five Points/Inman Park

Spring in Atlanta calls for this one. A remodeled 1920s cottage just one block from MARTA, a 10-minute walk to Little Five Points and Inman Park, and a private hot tub waiting for you after a full day of exploring. Perfectly sized for two, perfectly located for everything.

Kirkwood Retreat

Bring the whole crew — including the dog. This spacious 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom Kirkwood home sleeps 8 and is steps from Evergreen Butcher and Bakery. A dog-friendly neighborhood, a fantastic backyard, and luxe linens to come home to. A perfect spring basecamp for families.

Spring To-Do’s in Atlanta: The Short List

Atlanta Science Festival (March 7–21)

Two full weeks of interactive events across the city, capped off with the Exploration Expo at Piedmont Park on March 21. Great for families, curious adults, or anyone who likes free things to do on a Saturday.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade (March 14)

One of the oldest traditions in the city, dating back to 1858. The route runs down Peachtree Street near the Woodruff Arts Center — easy to catch on foot if you’re staying in Midtown or nearby neighborhoods.

Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival (March 20–29)

Live music, a Royal Legacy Circus performance, local vendors, and the cherry blossoms themselves. A low-key, beautiful way to spend an afternoon outside.

Streets Alive Atlanta (March 22)

Streets temporarily close to cars so you can walk, bike, roll, or just wander from the BeltLine through Vine City. It’s the ultimate open-streets event and one of the best free things Atlanta does.

Atlanta Braves Home Opener (March 27)

The Braves kick off the 2026 season at Truist Park against the Kansas City Royals. The Battery is worth the visit even if baseball isn’t your thing — restaurants, shops, and good crowd energy.

Little 5 Fest (March 28)

Live bands, skate culture, a makers market with local artists and handmade goods — all in one of Atlanta’s most walkable, eclectic neighborhoods. Free admission.

The Atlanta Fair (Through April 12)

Georgia’s only urban fair, set up downtown near the old Turner Field site. Rides, funnel cakes, cotton candy — the works. Open weekends through mid-April.

10 Atlanta Spots Worth Knowing About Right Now

1. Portrait Coffee — West End

A Black-owned roaster and cafe inside the historic Lottie Watkins building on Ralph David Abernathy. The whole mission is built around reframing who specialty coffee is for. Try the “Aunt Viv” or grab a bag of Founders Blend. The space feels like a gathering place, not just a coffee shop.

2. Lucky Star — West Midtown / Star Metals

Taiwanese café by day, cocktail bar by night — from Michelin-starred chef Jason Liang. Scallion pancakes stuffed with braised beef shank, oyster omelets, and a cocktail omakase experience that’s been turning heads since it launched. Walk in for lunch, reservations for dinner.

3. Rock Steady — West Midtown

Modern Afro-Caribbean dining meets music lounge. Co-founded by Haitian-American entrepreneur Jacob Thomas. The whole fried Haitian snapper and oxtail pappardelle are standouts. Stay for the DJ sets upstairs — the vibe shifts beautifully after dinner.

4. Storyteller Goods — Pop-ups at Homegrown, Memorial Drive

A boutique coffee cart doing creative seasonal drinks with real craft behind them — think cantaloupe syrup lattes and a gratuity-free pricing model. Pops up at Homegrown on weekends. The kind of spot you stumble into and tell everyone about.

5. Twisted Soul Cookhouse & Pours — West Midtown

Chef Deborah VanTrece’s globally-inspired take on soul food. Hoisin-glazed oxtails, five-spice chicken po’ boys, and bourbon peach cobbler. She came to Atlanta for culinary school and built this into one of the most respected kitchens in the city.

6. Just Add Honey Tea Company — Old Fourth Ward / BeltLine

Over 40 loose-leaf blends in a cozy shop right off the BeltLine. Founded by Brandi Shelton. A slower, quieter counterpoint to the coffee-shop energy everywhere else — perfect for an afternoon pause.

7. Brooklyn Tea — Castleberry Hills

Tea, vegan breakfast, and cookies shaped like Biggie Smalls. The vibe is warm and intentional. Close to Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which makes it a great morning stop for anyone staying near downtown.

8. Marcus Bar & Grille — Old Fourth Ward

Marcus Samuelsson’s Atlanta outpost — records on the walls, roller skates in the decor, and a menu that does Southern comfort at a high level. The hot honey salmon and Sunday Supper & Spins brunch are both worth planning around.

9. Tassili’s Raw Reality Cafe — West End

Chef Tassili Ma’at has been doing raw vegan food in the West End for years, and her kale wraps are genuinely legendary. The Punany Wrap has a cult following. Proof that plant-based food can have real soul.

10. The Consulate — Midtown

Owned by Mei Lin and Douglas Hines. A rotating global menu that changes every 90 days — one visit might be Tibetan sherpa stew, the next Mongolian beef skewers. Black truffle bulgogi and ube maitake mushroom dip are mainstays. Feels like a passport in restaurant form.

The World Cup Is Coming to Atlanta & It Starts This Month

Before the World Cup arrives this summer, Atlanta gets a preview. The U.S. Men’s National Team hosts two major friendlies at Mercedes-Benz Stadium at the end of March:

USA vs. Belgium — Saturday, March 28, 3:30 PM ET

USA vs. Portugal — Tuesday, March 31, 7:00 PM ET

These are the final tune-ups before the summer roster is set. Atlanta is now the official home of U.S. Soccer, and the energy around these matches is going to be real. If you’re in town or thinking about a late-March visit, this is worth knowing about.

And looking ahead: Mercedes-Benz Stadium will host eight World Cup matches this summer, including five group stage games and a semifinal. Spain, Morocco, South Africa, and more will play right here in Atlanta from June 15 through July 15. Our homes in Old Fourth Ward, Inman Park, Grant Park, Reynoldstown, and Cabbagetown put you within reach of the stadium while keeping you rooted in the neighborhoods that make Atlanta feel like Atlanta.

Early planners will have the best selection of homes and neighborhoods, especially during match weeks. If this summer is on your radar, now is the time to start the conversation.
